policies & procedures
to keep everyone happy - especially our furry friends
Doggy N Styles adheres to the following policies and asks that you do so as well for a smooth and pleasant grooming service. Scroll down to view all of our policies. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (719) 725-0291.
Proof of Vaccination, current Titer testing, or veterinary exemption letters must be provided before grooming will occur. Doggy N Styles may, at its sole discretion, take into consideration special circumstances, but in all cases reserves the right to not groom any dog that is not up to date with their vaccinations.
Owner MUST inform Doggy N Styles if your dog bites, has bitten, is aggressive, unpredictable, and/or has any other behavioral issues. If Owner fails to notify us of any potential danger or behavioral issue, Owner can and will be liable for all medical fees, out of work compensation, as well as any and all property damage. We reserve the right to muzzle any dog for their safety, and ours. Extremely aggressive and unruly dogs will NOT be groomed. If a dog is felt to be exhibiting behavior that is unsafe in regard to itself or others, it may be in the best interest of the dog that the groom be stopped. A fee may be charged dependent on work completed up to that point. All bites will be reported to the local authorities as required by law. Doggy N Styles has the right to refuse service.
We accept cash or card. We do not accept personal checks. We do have the option to accept payment with your credit or debit cards. Prices are non-negotiable and must be paid in full at time of pickup. Pricing varies for each dog and is determined by breed, size and condition of the dog’s coat. Additional charges may also apply due to the dog’s temperament and behavior during the groom session.
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful especially for a senior dog or dogs with health problems. Because of this, grooming can expose hidden medical problems as well as aggravate a current one, whether it be during or after the groom. Because senior dogs and dogs with health problems have a greater risk of injury, these dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort as Doggy N Styles will not compromise any dog’s health and/or well-being to achieve “the perfect groom”. The Owner will advise Doggy N Styles of any medical, physical or emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, and/or any other pre-existing conditions. These conditions may include, but are not limited to prior surgeries, hip and/or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections or skin problems. The Owner will also inform Doggy N Styles of new conditions as they arise. The Owner must review and sign a Senior Dog Release form prior to Doggy N Styles performing any grooming services.
Dogs with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Doggy N Styles does not wish to cause undue stress to any dog and will not continually de-mat any dog for any reason. If Owner would like their dog brushed out, a dematting fee of $1.00 per minute up to 30 minutes will apply. After 30 minutes, all remaining matting may need to be shaved. This will always be discussed with Owner beforehand. In severe cases, shaving is the only option. An additional $15.00 to $35.00 may be added to the initial groom price for shaving matted dogs. This fee does not include any previous de-matting performed earlier in the session. PLEASE NOTE that not all dogs are candidates for the de-matting process, and Doggy N Styles reserves the right to refuse de-matting any dog. If Owner would like to reschedule their grooming appointment to allow time to try and brush out the excess matting, a $25 cancellation fee may apply. Even after the Owner has attempted to brush out the matting, it is not guaranteed that we will be able to save the coat. All Owners must review and sign a Matting Release form prior to Doggy N Styles performing any de-matting or shave downs as a result of matting.
There is always the possibility an accident could occur during a session. Grooming equipment is sharp and even though Doggy N Styles uses extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a dog is wiggling or moving around. Because of this, we would prefer the Owners not stay while their dog is being groomed. However, there are circumstances that warrant the Owners being present during their dog’s session. Prior arrangements must be made, and during that session, the Owners must waive any and all liabilities to Doggy N Styles and/or its employees, staff, and management. Doggy N Styles will not be held liable for any injuries occurred on the Property.
We understand that the urge to oversee the process is tempting but in most cases, it creates more stress on your dog. It also prevents trust from being built between groomer and dog, which is an essential part of a comfortable, safe grooming experience. If an injury occurs, the owner will be notified immediately. If the owner notices any possible injuries from grooming after the session, Doggy N Styles must be notified within 24 hours of the groom.
Owner gives Doggy N Styles full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest vet clinic in the case of any medical emergency while the dog is within the care of Doggy N Styles.
If Owner suspects their dog has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on the Owner’s part is needed which includes informing Doggy N Styles prior to the start of the grooming session. We offer flea baths as well as tick removal. Additional charges for both apply based on severity. If a dog has fleas, it is the Owner’s responsibility to treat their home accordingly. If ticks are found, Doggy N Styles strongly suggests that the dog be tested for Lyme Disease and other tick-borne diseases. Remember, parasites of any kind are a health hazard to your dog and YOU!
Owner understands and acknowledges that the grooming activities that take place on the Property may be dangerous and may involve the risk that Owner or Owner’s pet will sustain serious injury, temporary or permanent disability, death, and/or property damage. Owner further acknowledges that any injury Owner or Owner’s pet may sustain while on the Property may be compounded by negligent or delayed medical service. OWNER VOLUNTARILY AND FREELY ASSUMES ALL RISKS AND DANGERS THAT MAY OCCUR WITH REGARD TO THE GROOMING SERVICES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES ON THE PROPERTY, INCLUDING THE RISK OF INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Doggy N Styles requires AT LEAST 24 hours’ notice to change or cancel an appointment. Failure to notify Doggy N Styles at least 24 hours in advance may result in a cancellation fee per dog of $25.00, which must be paid prior to the next from appointment being scheduled.
Because Doggy N Styles schedules by appointment, it is extremely important that all clients show up on time for their designated time. If clients arrive more than 15 minutes past their scheduled time, the appointment may be canceled and need to be rescheduled. A $25.00 cancellation fee per dog may apply.
No Shows will be charged a $35.00 no show fee per dog which must be paid before the next appointment is scheduled. After 2 no shows, all customers must prepay, in cash, or by credit/debit card for any and all future appointments. Pre-payments are non-refundable.
We ask that all dogs be picked up within 30 minutes of their groom being completed. Pick-ups after 30 minutes may result in a fee of $5 per every 10 minutes. The last appointment of the day must be picked up by our closing time. We will always inform our clients of our closing time upon drop off. Pickups past closing time will result in a late fee of $5 for the first 10 minutes followed by $1 per minute thereafter for up to 1 hour. By law we are not allowed to board animals, so if an animal is not picked up we are required to turn them over to animal control. We ask that if you are running late, please provide a courtesy phone call so that we may accommodate your dog comfortably until your arrival.
Doggy N Styles reserves the right to take photos of all dogs and use the photos for media sites and other advertising.
